Thursday
It’s happening very, very slowly but Isis is actually standing still sometimes for Gr. and Be. to give her rump some good, firm rubs. She is also much more willing to sniff a carefully proffered hand – not one encased in a glove though. And she will take a treat if a human wards off the other eager noses, but she’ll not push herself forward.
She’ll challenge me at the drop of a hat but is quite a shy, demure little creature when faced with other people or animals.
She has not shared the house with another dog before, and I was interested to see what she’d make of being hostess to Billy!
Billy is an affectionate, good-natured dog and was Ellie’s sleepover mate. He has recently moved house so we no longer see him in the park every day.
Di left him with us for a couple of hours today. Isis showed no aggression towards him, neither did she appear to be frightened. But she was very shy and retiring and soon disappeared upstairs.
Hopefully, Bill will be visiting regularly, so she will have the opportunity to brush up her social skills!
Isis came from the Aeza cat and dog rescue and adoption centre in Aljezur, Portugal. For information about adopting an animal from the centre, contact kerry@aeza.org or www.dogwatchuk.com
Oh, that’s exciting – a friend could be very helpful 🙂
