Sunday
Last Wednesday I wrote about Isis’s ‘nightmares’ and decided to monitor them.
Unfortunately, she flew into so many rages on Thursday that I lost count of them. Nightmares and day rages seemed to merge into one long nerve-wracking day.
I had stopped giving her the Zylkène capsules four days before since they didn’t seem to be having any effect. Could this be the reason for the rages?
Then again, on Thursday morning after Hairy One had retired upstairs for her post-walk snooze, I had quietly closed the bedroom door on her and vacuumed for about two hours. Could this have triggered the attacks? Perhaps she hates the hoover as much as I do.
And then, ever the optimist, I began to wonder whether her brain was deteriorating and she would always be afflicted with uncontrollable rages.
I am relieved to say that by Friday she had recovered and is now back to her relatively normal self.
Tomorrow I will begin rage logging again.
Isis came from the Aeza cat and dog rescue and adoption centre in Aljezur, Portugal. For information about adopting an animal from the centre, contact kerry@aeza.org or www.dogwatchuk.com
