Kerry* and Gr. sent me this information:
‘The Podengo is trained well with positive techniques and should be kept on leash all of the time during training as they can be quite autonomous and have their own ideas about what constitutes proper behaviour. They can be remarkably silly in the home.’
(Desmond Morris, The Ultimate Dictionary of Over 1,000 Dog Breeds.)
Kerry also sent this link to a photo of a young Podengo Pequino:

Now this little pup does look remarkably like a very young version of Isis!
How does the quoted description match up with Isis. Very well.
‘quite autonomous’?
Very autonomous.
‘their own ideas about what constitutes proper behaviour’?
Definitely. Isis thinks that emptying waste bins, raping her dog bed, mountaineering over furniture, helping with the paper recycling and snatching food from Boss’s plate are all examples of proper behaviour.
‘remarkably silly in the home’?
But don’t all dogs climb the stairs then wait to be carried back down? And what’s wrong with dancing when Boss is trying to put your harness on? Or showing your affection by pulling her hair?
