bite, what me?

Friday

When Isis first met Gr. who is very much a dog person, he approached her with great care,  offering her the back of his hand and allowing her to sniff it very thoroughly. Then he offered her a tasty treat which, after due thought, she accepted.

Gr. repeated this procedure several times before touching her very gently on her back.

She bit him.

That was four months ago.

She may be sight and hearing challenged but now she has found her feet she proves that she is no fool. When she senses that Gr. is nearby, she makes her way towards him, sniffs his trousers carefully to double-check it’s really Gr., lifts up her head and waits for a treat.

If she’s not in the mood for being petted, she eats the offering quickly and beats a hasty retreat.

On a better day, she stays around for a good back rub.

Bite a nice man like Gr. What me?

Isis came from the Aeza cat and dog rescue and adoption centre in Aljezur, Portugal. For information about adopting an animal from the centre, contact kerry@aeza.org or  www.dogwatchuk.com
