Friday
A buzz of activity: several new puppies in the park. And a crop of French Bulldogs out and about. One sniffs Conchobhar, who is singularly unimpressed.
“Damned flies.”
And Isis and I meet two more today in Highbury Park,
Bugsy (left) aged almost three, whom we know and tiny new addition to his family, Miss Roxy aged thirteen weeks.
They are on their leads because their owner doesn’t want them to bother Isis who is afraid of the strong midday shadows.
But she’s enjoyed her walks most of the week, especially hunting in the woods. This is her idea of fun. Of course, the tantalising scents are the main attraction, but it’s hugely entertaining to weave in and out of stems so human has to crawl through to keep up. Snigger.
Isis came from the Aeza cat and dog rescue and adoption centre in Aljezur, Portugal. For information about adopting an animal from the centre, contact kerry@aeza.org or www.dogwatchuk.com
Oh my gosh – Bugsy! What a cute name!
